5 ways gratitude has changed my life – #1

My first ever gratitude journal was April 28, 2017. I am sure I had sporadic attempts at finding gratitude every single day, but that is the definitive moment I made it a permanent part of my life. Now that doesn’t mean that at the time I did it every single day, but I did my best, and its only been in the recent year that I have maintained a daily if not 6/7 times a week gratitude practice.

At the time I was just getting out of a relationship, dealing with my mental health, 6 months into my journey as an entrepreneur, lonely, struggling financially, etc. I needed something to help me find the joy, blessings and magic in life again.

But that was back in 2017, and its easier to talk about what you’ve done than what you’re doing. So wanted share how gratitude is changing my life even right now in 2021.

  1. Reminds me of what I do have

Without intentionality and consciously directing my focus I will naturally settle on fear + scarcity.

I am not so good that I can naturally settle on the most positive, abundant, and uplifting conclusion. I consider it a daily practice and discipline to be a positive and hopeful person.

Everyday that I am expressing my gratitude, I am slowly but surely re-working my mindset and perspective to look for all the things to be grateful for. To look for all the ways that I am capable, all the ways that I am already rich – in food, opportunity, health, wealth, etc, all the ways I have everything I need and then some.

Now it doesn’t eliminate fear which, doesn’t need to be demonised because that too is a natural part of being human, but it helps to not be controlled by it because I am too focused on what I do have. I am to focused and committed to choosing love + abundance.

As the saying goes – what we focus on, we give power to and expands.
I don’t know about you, but I would rather multiply all my blessings then my troubles.

To our growth,
Jean.
