It ain’t over till it’s over baby!

One principle my mentors have taught me along my journey has been being able to draw a line in the sand, step over it and just keep moving forward.

I was reminded of this as I stumbled upon a document, I made at the end of 2020, detailing my goals for 2021. “Oh boy, here we go…”

I already knew that most of them I wasn’t even close to achieving, except for two which are just within grasp and I am confident I will be able to knock off by the end of the year. Two is better than none!

My goals were a stretch but not impossible, and I truly believe if had I set a thorough plan in motion, stuck to it and stayed focused all throughout this year – I most definitely could have crossed them off. As you can guess, I didn’t do that.

There were a few other things to cross off first apparently – my first heartbreak, an unshakeable depression, expected but unexpected unemployment, etc. Ah the joys of gaining life experience, at least now I have a bit of a story to tell!

Through it all there has been an inextinguishable hope raging in my heart – that has buoyed and lifted me and it comes from knowing that it ain’t over till its over baby. My lines in the sand, drawn time and time again, is not a proof of failure but proof that as long as I don’t give in and I am willing to try, I will keep moving forward.

The folder has now been renamed: “My goals 2022.” And at least now I have a head start too.

To our growth,
Jean.
